Briony

Assistant Horticulturist/Designer

Horticulture has always been a key part of my life. From a young age I have many memories of helping my grandparents in their suburban garden, growing a variety of vegetables as well as making my own “putting green”.

Once leaving school, I studied at Merrist Wood College (Guildford) for three glorious years, the end of the course I obtained a National Diploma in Practical Horticulture (level three) with a Triple Distinction* as well as Horticulture Student of the Year.

After leaving college, I worked at various National Trust properties in the South-East, Woolbeding Gardens, Clandon Park, Claremont Park and Homewood. All where I gained more horticultural experience with a great understanding of design, plants, horticulture and an eye for detail.

Also working for nationwide production nurseries, predominantly growing perennials and shrubs.  I gained experience across the board from propagation to potting to despatching the finished plants offsite to garden centres across the UK. This has increased my knowledge of plants, their growing conditions and an understanding of plant health.

With experience in the horticultural industry from 2008, I have a varied knowledge of plants, gardens, design, horticultural husbandry and customer services.
